It's been almost two weeks since Sebastian's gotcha day. He is quite the character and very smart lil guy. When I talk to him I talk about what he's doing name things in cage and say what food I am giving him or that he's munching on. He will do all he can to get me to come back to his cage and play/train hopping and fluttering to figure out what I want him to do and to hear me say certain things. It's hilarious..after his bath he shakes si his tail vibrates so I say bzzzt he will keep doing it fly off do it again slide down the bars to hear me say weee! At bath time he splashed water at me ibay oooh you splashed me he really gets into it lol he knows what a perch is now after an afternoon of saying perch when he landed on one then started saying yes that's a perch show me another perch so he finally got the idea of other perch so I started putting a temporary perch in mama perch which he comes to when I say mama perch or come here now I make trails to my hand at door with egg yolk after two days he's within an inch of my hand I'm pretty stoked at how quicky he's coming along. He likes to do funny antics to get me to laugh and if you watch from a distance he will start hopping around and finally stop to tweet and serenade me back over to hear me talk it's too cute!
He had a Birdie adventure the other day flying in house completely unplanned he had fun thankfully it didn't take long to get him back to cage a lil broccoli did the trick. Once I can get Him to come to me and perch on my finger regularly he will get out of cage time daily. He did perch on day three but hasn't had the courage since.
He gets all kinds of things he never got before and actually prefers greens to seed or fruit..ESP broccoli and dandelions zucchini is another favorite...mama is going to pot a dandelion for him to munch on as well the lady at the plant nursery thinks he is one lucky and spoiled canary but thinks it's awesome.
How are all your Fids doing?
