There are different opinions on that, but I wouldn't unless he actually has worms, especially if he lives indoors. If you have any concerns about that, talk to an avian vet. The only birds I've ever wormed were chickens, and only for treatment, not as a preventive measure.

The breeder said to worm him 8 weeks after I got him. Makes me wonder if it is because he was with a lot of other babies.

I was told it's not necessary unless they've been in direct contact with birds outside or environments that have lots of grasses etc. that can convey nasties to them. It's an interesting question. Next time Bonnie is at the vet for her hormone implant review I'll ask him what's best and let everyone know what he says.

Hey Biteybird... I meant to ask... do you notice much difference in Bonnie since her hormone implant?? I see you wrote about her attacking hubby still. Any else you can share that might be a change in her?

Well, Julianna, IN BETWEEN the odd attacks she does seem more level, calm and sweet. But when she goes off, she does it properly. We were hoping that the attacks would stop altogether. So far she has given hubby 3 bad bites since the implant, but generally speaking is much nicer (she lets him scratch her head through the cage bars, which was impossible before). I noticed she has a lot of pin feathers on her head and neck, which might be making her grumpier.

For your hubby's sake... I hope it stops as well... and yes those pin feathers do make them more grumpier. Thanks for the update.
