I cannot believe sometimes... what Oscar eats. Besides being a little fatso and wanting to try everything we have.... the other day he actually ate an olive. The kind that are pickled with the red pepper inside. Never thought in a million years he would eat it but he asked for it... gave it to him... and he ate it. ha ha ha...
He does not like anything that has been pickled but I guess olives is an exception to the rule.
He is still on his little Tic Tac crave. Those little white peppermints... he will take one and try to chew it for a good half hour. He can never break them and he never finishes one... but he sure has nice smelling breath when he is finished... lol.
When he is done with the Tic Tac he will drop it on the floor so I would pick it up and put it in his little white container. The other day I catch him taking one Tic Tac out at a time and throwing it across the kitchen floor... ha ha ha.... Then... he throws the little white container too. So I thought he would be done with the Tic Tac crave... but no... he still tries to go and get one off the shelf. Just so cute to watch him.
He also recognizes the Ginger Ale can now. At one time he would beat that can up severely but now he screams as he wants to lick a little off the rim. Peppermint and Ginger Ale... what next???

Ha! This is excellent! Maya's fascination at the moment is the Ritz crackers. She is obsessed with them. They're quite salty so we are very careful not to give them to her, but if she thinks we're not looking, she will sneakily try to find a way into the box. It's cardboard, so I don't think it would take her very long to find a way. We normally bribe her with nutriberries to keep her quiet.

Peppermint and Ginger Ale... what next??? Champagne and caviar maybe? You beat me to it, Gary! Bonnie used to like a sip of champagne when she was younger - hmm, maybe that's why her behaviour has been so awful at times - but she also enjoys prawns and Atlantic Salmon. As I've noted before, it's a pity she's actually a gourmand rather than a gourmet.

ha ha ha.... champagne and caviar... I don't think I have ever tried that stuff myself.... the caviar I mean. Oscar is a fish eater and his favorite is crab legs... even the fake ones... but again... a little too much salt on that stuff so he only gets a little. My Mom used to give Oscar ritz crackers but he won't take them from me. But for breakfast he loves a half of a regular cracker.... which he usually looses in his water.
I find it amazing the various foods that they eat.

Very surprised to hear about some of these foods! I was very strict on what I fed Yoshi in the begining, but I've eased up a bit. I share whole wheat bread with him, greek yogurt, popcorn, tater tots, and for the past few days he's had some spaghetti noodles. All in moderation, of course.

Speaking of chubby little Oscar, how's his weight loss coming? Can you tell any difference?

His weight is not good.... okay.. now don't blow a casket but he weighs 116 grams. Uh huh... he is a fatso. He gains and I loose... I lost 32 lbs. lately and feel great!!! lol.
He eats a lot of his pellets now but I think it is all the snacks in-between meals that is the problem. He always seems to be at his bowl eating his pellets or his romaine lettuce.
All in all... I can put myself on a diet... but have a hard time to force it on anyone else.

I am not sure if my scale works correctly but I plan on taking Oscar to the vet near the end of this month and then I will know for sure. He seems a little chubby but does not seem fat to me. Hopefully he is not too much over weight.

Even tho he LOOKS bigger, Yoshi still maintains his weight of 94-95g. I don't know if his feathers came in bigger and fluffier or what, but he looks bigger than he did a year ago, but has maintained the same weight.
