Johnny (a tiel) has a nasty mark on his forehead that is just the size and shape of a beak point. I don't know what happened, but I suspect he and Freddie (the other tiel) had a tiff. They do, all the time, though they're best buds and spend all their time together. They argue, just like any other pair of best friends. Usually Johnny wins, but my guess is Freddie did this time. Both are smart enough to stay out of Jade's reach and usually avoid Clyde, too. I looked it over last night and while it probably hurt when it happened, it's already scabbed over and he didn't flinch when I touched it. Tiels heal amazingly fast.

Hi Siobhan, sorry to hear about Johnny's injury. I can vouch for what you've said about Tiels healing amazingly fast - the cockatiel I've had inside for at least 6 weeks now had a horrible inch-long wound on his tummy, inflicted by a plum-headed parrot (or so we think). After less than a week it was completely healed! I hope Johnny heals quickly and that he and Freddy can re-establish the pecking order.

I think he's fine. He slept on the knickknack shelf and Freddie on the curtain rod last night and they seem to have kissed and made up.

Johnny still has a spot, but it looked much better last night. Oy, these birds. They have a whole room and plenty of perches and toys to go around. If you're not getting along with a sibling, just go hang out in another place, why don't you?
