So, Lady has learned a new trick, and it is so funny! My oldest daughter actually taught it to her. We will look at her and say, "Shy Lady!" and she turns her head to the side and lowers it, sort of like a shy person ducking and "blushing." At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, and my daughter was saying it response to Lady making that movement, but then, I saw that Lady was actually responding to her. And she does it regularly, nearly every time time it is said. She is extremely smart. We have a lot of fun with both her and Pat.

Quakers are very smart little parrots who tend to love an appreciative audience!

That is really sweet Jenwade. I know the movement that you are speaking of as Oscar does this when I offer him some of his favorite food. It is like a sideway bow.... and I think he says to me... Oh Boy... Thanks Mom... lol.
They sure are smart.

That's exactly the movement that Lady does. She reserves for when we ask her to do it by saying, "Shy Lady." I think that it started by my daughter calling her Shy Lady when she would do it and then it became a trick for her to learn. I am working on her playing ball now. We have a small ball with a bell inside that we play with. I will give it to her and she "throws" it back with her beak. We are still early in the process though. I hope that she will start to chase it eventually, but we have a ways to go before we are there yet.
