Our family companion, Cindi, of 22yrs sadly passed away on Saturday, 19 November at 18h00. I am devastated and very depressed or grieved about her departure. Cindi was passed on to my family when my sons were 3yrs and 6yrs. They are now 25yrs and 28yrs. We are not sure of her age when we adopted her. We think she may have been with the previous family for about 6yrs. Making her possibly 28yrs when she died.
My heart is totally devastated. she was a true friend and companion. A ever present presence. Always chirping, and trying to get the families attention. We have very fond memories of Cindy. Over the years Cindi became blind, and both her claws had arthritis, but she knew her cage and the home very well. She lived mostly on the top of her cage every moment we allowed her to.
You are greatly missed my Cindy.... just don't know how I am ever going to face the next days, weeks, months and maybe even years.....
My tears are never ending.....

I am very sorry for your devastating loss, emilia. You must have taken very good care of Cindi for her to live into her late twenties, or maybe more. No one who doesn't have an avian companion can understand the depth of the bond you develop with one. People understand here, so if you want to talk about Cindi, you'll have a very sympathetic audience.

So sorry for your loss. Cindi certainly had a good loving home with you for all those years. I'm sure you have many good memories of her, which will be a comfort to you. Many of us here know what it's like to lose a beloved companion parrot and can sympathize with your grief.

Emilia, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You should be so proud to have given Cindi such a good home for so many years. I can only imagine how hard it must be to lose such a lovely friend-- I've never lost a companion parrot, but I can certainly imagine how painful it would be... RIP little Cindi. *hugs* to you and your family. We're all here and ready to listen if you would like to talk more.

Hi Emilia, I'm really sorry to hear about your Cindi. I'm in constant fear of something happening to our quaker (Bonnie) and she's only almost 3 years old - so I think you provided Cindi with a very safe and loving environment for 22 years. I can only imagine how horrible you must be feeling, but try to remind yourself that she had a great life with you and your family & a much better one than out in the wild, especially as in your house she had both freedom, attention and love.
