On November 1st, 2015, I brought home my tiny, baby quaker, then named Byron.
Since then, the bird has...
- turned out to be a girl and assumed the name 'Maya',
- learned to wear a harness and been for walks outside
- learned to fly
- won the heart of my boyfriend (and everybody else she meets!)
- become a true companion and friend who I could not live without.
Happy 'gotcha' day Maya! May this be the first of many...

Teeheehee, she's been keeping us busy as well! Earlier on today, she went exploring on the clothes horse and got herself lost amongst the washing! (I was watching her obviously, so I knew where she was, only she didn't!) she was like, a foot from my face and was contact calling in a panic because she couldn't see me any more so I had to rescue her. Silly girl!

Holy... already a year. How time does fly when you are having fun. Happy "gotcha" day to you both. Isn't it amazing how they can fill our lives with so much joy. (ok... work too... but mostly joy)

Wow! I'm a bit late to this thread, but happy gotcha day to both you and Maya! Time does fly! You and little Maya have been through quite a lot in that first year! Here's to many more wonderful years together.  |
