Wow... congratulations for sure. I am very happy for you. Even though the job maybe similar... a change is as good as a rest.. I always say. I am sure it will be difficult being away from your husband but I am sure you both with find a way to spend some time together. I cannot believe the rent up there... wow... $400 per week??? And I thought paying $800 a month was bad. That is what I paid when I lived in Southern Ontario for a few years. And that included heat and hydro.
Be happy Biteybird... take care of yourself and be safe. All the best.

Thanks everyone, now I'm just going through some 'red tape'...good ol' Australia, great for that! After I got the offer via email and accepted, they wanted me to put an online application in. Then apparently my application was 'pending' because it was incomplete...turned out there were a couple of TINY scroll bars that I didn't see (on the online screen boxes I was filling in), so I didn't complete some fields/upload a couple of documents. So I had to upload proof of my qualifications and now that is done. But then they said 'your referees didn't respond' - to which I replied "My first referee was contacted via phone on Wednesday" (which was my school principal). Not good enough...I had to provide email addresses for both my principal AND assistant principal and now they need to provide something IN WRITING for my application to proceed further. Time is ticking away and somehow I have to organise accommodation over there within the next week - maybe I'll need to take a day off in the last week of school just to sort everything out. Tonight I looked online again and managed to find a 1-bedroom unit just a few blocks away from where I'll be working, for $300 per week - I sent a message to the agent. $1200 bond upfront (pretty normal), but I need to find out how long the lease is for. After doing nothing but waiting to hear back from jobs for nearly 12 months, suddenly everything is such a rush - still frazzled! It's nice to be wanted, though. The principal of my new school sent me an email saying "WOOHOO, I'm excited!" (at having me join them there). So that was a nice self-esteem booster.
