I'm trying to teach Ollie some words and although he does things at his own pace the past few days I've been watching Disney movies and scrubs with him and he's been picking up on words and also talking more. He also let me get close to petting him without bitting him.

Another good way to teach them words is to sit Ollie on your finger and look straight at him. Say whatever word you want .. perhaps "I love you" and do it over and over with excitement. (they love to see us excited).
Just repeat and repeat and eventually you will hear it back. Oscar only likes me to pet him when he has pin feathers and then I must be gentle. Otherwise if I pet him... he won't bite me but will play attack me. I get the hint he doesn't like it much. He would rather be cuddled that petted.

I suppose some words Casey has learned were from repitition like good morning and night night night etc , things she heard daily. But you will notice that they just listen and often come up with words on their own too. It is fun when they start having conversations with you!
