I am really struggling to find a good cage. The one Starry has now is quite nasty and because of this she is never in it. Really though, I need to have her in her cage more often so I can let my ratty children out as well.
So far I have seen that the Loro flight cage is highly recommended. I have also seen other AA cage being recommended. What do you personally use?
Price is somewhat an issue but I can work it out if it is super expensive! The preferred color is white so if the cage has that choice, it would be great!
Thanks!

I found mine on Amazon for a very reasonable price. I don't recall the brand. They have much to choose from. The same cage in a store or online parrot sites was more than twice the price! I just checked all the specs, made sure of bar spacing and the cage size without the base. It's wrought iron with powder coating. Mine is black but I think it came in white. Complete with playtop and seed skirt. Ducky loves it. If I can find the brand name, I'll post it. The down side is I had to put it together, but seeing your wonderful playstand that probably won't be an issue for you.

I have that same one but in the 18 x 18 size and it is just so tiny for her! As well as rusted :/ I do like the design though. I'll search eBay in a bit! Thanks for the help!

My dad and I built a Double Critter Nation once for my ratties and THAT was not fun! If you do remember, let me know!

I have a free standing chrome cage similar to this one: www.northernparrots.com/mobile/cortes-top-opening-parrot-cage-antique-prod950010/?from=cat but not quite as deep. It is sturdy and the finish makes it really easy to clean. It has lots of space for toys and was expensive, but absolutely worth it because it's spacious and safe for Maya. Northern parrots do a lot of great cages. You can also get these cages from Amazon, but if they're on np, they'll be good cages. Worth checking the np website and then seeing if you can get your preferred cage from Amazon a bit cheaper

Just some words about eBay liquidators, if you wind up buying from one. At least some of their stock consists of items that were shipped to a buyer and returned, so the original vendor couldn't sell them again as new. Some may have been returned for reasons other than defects, but some could have minor flaws. Mine had one slightly bent leg, and my husband managed to make it much worse. Our neighbor welded it back on, and the cage manufacturer sent me the matching paint for free. All in all, well worth it, but you do take your chances.

I have a similar cage, same size. When she is in it, the cage looks tiny! There is no room for her to be a parrot it seems! I have found quite a few decent ones on Craigslist. Hard to pick through ones that are worth it and not worth it! If I can't find one before the end of the month, eBay it will be! Thanks for all the input guys!

This one is similar to Ralph's cage: A & E Victorian cage It's worked out well for him. We never use the open top though-- I've heard horror stories about parrots getting injured when it accidentally closed.

Bishop is much smaller than the average quaker but it's a tall cage that is certainly wide enough for a quaker or cockatiel sized bird to stretch it's wings. As long as a cage is wider than a birds wingspan it's wide enough. Of course you generally want it larger than that, especially if you can't take the bird out often but in looking for a cage that's the minimum size you should get.

She definitely cannot stretch her wings fully... She is only in for three to four hours during the day and at night. Otherwise she is on her playstand! All my animals have oversized cages and I prefer it that way. Not to mention her cage has rust on nearly everything due to lack of cleaning for 10 years... I figure since I am getting a new cage regardless, might as go as big as I can afford!

I think you are on the right track by purchasing a nice big one. Having the food on the top is also a bonus as it helps keep the mess down. Good luck on your choice.
