Hello! It's worth looking at the liberta and rainforest cages if you haven't found one yet. I have one travel cage for Maya that I bought from Amazon and am very happy with it. If you can get a liberta or rainforest cage from Amazon, you're doing great. I know money doesn't grow on trees, but if you can spare another £/$/€30-50 to get Starry a slightly bigger, better cage, it may well save you quite a lot of money in the future. Chrome finish is good but expensive. The one I have is a baked powder paint finish designed specifically for birds so that it doesn't rust and the paint is lead and zinc free and, because it is applied as a powder and baked, it doesn't flake off.

Thanks! I did find one, I don't like it too much but I found some reviews of people who tested it for toxicity and it was really great with the tests. It is only her cage for a few months, then it will either go to the budgies or the 'tiel! I really want the Loro flight. I will look into the cages you mentioned, although I am in the US, so not too sure...

Ah, that makes it more difficult. Northern Parrots do ship to the US and I think Liberta is a US company, so you might have luck there! The Loro flight cage is beautiful. I'd love it as well, but I'm not sure I can get in in the UK, although Maya's current cage is a similar size. Having a cage that you can attach a full spectrum light to is good. Maya has one fro arcadia and her new feathers growing in are looking fly (excuse the pun) Do you know if you can find Loro cages on amazon.com? I found several Liberta and rainforest cages on amazon.co.uk for much cheaper. Worth a look if you haven't already?

What I got works so well and she really love it so much!

That is a really nice cage Tim. With the flat top you can build a little gym for Griffin to play on. I have seen a few neat gyms built on this site but I personally have not built one. They love climbing and some like to swing... so that gives you a little idea for what to put up there.
To help keep things clean... which is difficult with these little rascals.. I use a lot of newspaper... and don't worry it is not harmful for Quakers. I put it on the bottom of the cage and around the floor as well. Just makes things so much easier the next morning.
Well done!!

Thanks julianna! He does love to hang around on the top - he yanks on the hooks holding his rope and hanging toy while hes up there hehe. I'm thinking of getting him a play gym for Christmas, but only if he is a good parrot till then hehehe.

Kio's first cage was purchased at my local chain. The cage was large, and green (his favorite color!) Plenty of room for him to fly from side to side if he wanted. Unfortunately, the panels didn't align really well, and there was a little sliver where he slid down and got 2 of his toes caught. I caught him within seconds, but by then he already panicked and bit his toes off. I rushed him to the ER vet and he is ok, but he is down 1.5 toes (one is missing the nail, but the toe is ok). I think he's forgiven me more than I've forgiven myself, but the hunt for a better cage began. I bought another cage from a different chain online marketed specifically for quakers, but the bar spacing is just a little too wide. Especially since my little guy is down 2 toes I wanted to make sure moving around is easier for him. I found a website and bought from them. So far (1 year later) I still really like the cage. I like its quality, and Kio likes it My rainbow lory keeps trying to go into the cage whenever he can so maybe he likes it too? I'm thinking of buying another one for my rainbow lory just so he will maybe stop trying to go in Kio's cage, but I think there's probably more to it than just the cage lol. I've been nervous about buying another cage from this site because I haven't seen other reviews for them. And the BBB has them listed as unaccredited and that they have a D+! Kinda freaked me out. But figured I'd share my experience just in case. birdcages4less.com/page/B/PROD/PA5719

Poor Kio, and what a harrowing experience for both of you! I bought one cage from that site and didn't have any problems. It's stainless steel and I'm not impressed with the quality, but that is the manufacturer, who is a major name.

Apologies... I don't know how to post pictures here...(see Tmmah's picture above Dec 2016 - this is what Gracie has). Gracie's first cage was an 18x18 dome top. When outside her cage she was constantly slipping on the opened dome and overall the cage seemed too small for her. I upgraded to a black metal Flight Cage 32x21x64, stand included in dimensions. My QP loves the space she has now! She is much more active and much more playful! She is one happy little girl!

[uote author=" laurasue" source="/post/20859/thread" timestamp="1546044858"]Hi, Scooby is 4 months old and I want to get him a new cage. can anyone tell me if this one would work ok? www.ebay.com/itm/68-Large-Bird-Cage-Play-Top-Parrot-Finch-Cage-Pet-Supplies-Perch-Macaw-House/163195317661?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144. Thank you[/quote] Looks somewhat similar to one that I have. All in all,it's a good cage, but the one problem I have is that the seed catchers are not integrated into the lower vertical bars. Thus, they just lay against the side and have a gap between the catcher sides and the side of the cage allowing pellets ect to drop to the floor anyway. If it has pullout dishes that can be removed from the outside, that's a good thing. Mine has 3,but I only use 2. The other needs a zip tie to stay closed. I had to send back 2 in order to get one that wasn't smashed too ,so be prepared to wait a while. The other one I bought at a garage sale. It's a California cage.. brand name I think..real quality cage I paid 70 bucks for..so sometimes the used market has some good deals.

I have the Flight Bird Cage 32"x 21"x 62" in black. It comes in several color choices. Gracie has plenty of room to excercise her wings and has several different perches and toys in it, as well as room for her "bedroom" (a happy hut in one corner, turned up on its end,the only way she will use it). This cage has been the perfect choice! She is very happy and active. When I am home she goes in and out of her cage to the playstand I have on the top of the cage. I would post a picture for you but can't do it on this site for whatever reason 😕 I give this cage ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
