My quaker parrot is sick, she's sitting on her perch inside her cage sleeping. Her tail is slightly bobbing up and down and her feces is a little yellow colored. She also seems to lose her balance. Earlier she was sitting on my lap and when she tried to climb onto my shoulder, she lost her balance and almost fell. However she tried again and was able to climb onto my shoulder and sat there for a while. She hasn't been talking or making much noise either. She has laid unfertilized eggs twice before, could she be sick because she is going to lay eggs again? Please help!

There could be several things wrong with your parrot. The best thing to do is to take her to an avian certified veterinarian (or at least one experienced in caring for birds) as soon as possible.

Hello aly, hope you are well. Laying eggs is a natural behaviour and should not cause changes in poop or loss of balance in a bird. Change in poop colouraion normally means a digestive issue, but loss of balance could point to many things. I second cnyguy, find an avian vet if you haven't already registered with one and get her there asap. Is birdie insured? Insurance has saved me £600 so far on vet bills and I have only had my Maya since November 2015. Most of those were completely pointless terror scares and Maya turned out to be fine, but in moments of horrible illness, insurance and a certified avian vet are both invaluable resources. Best of luck and keep us posted on how your girlie is.

Please let us know how your baby is. I hope you found a vet and all is well.
