My guy usually very gently chews at me. Just those exploratory nibbles. BUT today he gave me a few harder bites. Not breaking skin or anything but it was noticeably a bit angry. These happened when I was using the iPhone or playing the PlayStation. When I scratched his head he calmed down and seemed content again. It seems that he thinks I'm giving the phone and video game controller the scritches that are most rightfully his. Is that unheard of? Or maybe he's just trying to tell me to put the electronics away :-P

It's pretty common. It seems especially true with electronics, but it can be anything that you devote attention to that is rightfully be his. He might be more accepting of them in time. Or not.

Shah is exactly the same - I am not allowed to touch anything when he is out. He doesn't bite anymore but beak bashes me instead. However, if I try and talk on the phone, I get seriously savaged.

Parrots tend to resent anything that takes their human companions' attention away from where it rightfully should be-- on the parrots, of course.

Hahaha, Maya does that ALL the time! She gets jealous of my breakfast spoon sometimes! My iphone regularly takes a beating, as dust my deoderant bottle (roll on only, obv), my moisturiser bottle, my laptop screen and the remote control. Maya's only ever broken my skin once and it wasn't aggressive, she was trying to get at something in my hand that I wouldn't let her have and broke the skin trying to wrestle it out. She HAS however, given me numerous bruises and almost all of these result from attacking me while I'm holding an object she resents.

Oh, don't get me started on the object jealousy! OK...anything made of glass/metal/plastic, phones, computers, ipad, TV remotes. Be warned - do not leave your computer keyboard accessible when unattended, as the keys will be ripped off in no time.

Be warned - do not leave your computer keyboard accessible when unattended, as the keys will be ripped off in no time. Yoshi climbs down my arm and chews on my keyboard, mouse, and mouse pad all while attended. Me trying to stop him earns me a very firm nip, and can result in an unpleasant bite if continued! My mouse pad was missing beak shaped chunks . I finally replaced it.

Bonnie likes to 'beak'/chew any of the side ports on my laptop...now that I have a new one, this is a big no-no! She makes her seagull grumbly noise when I stop her doing it. Also, watch your cables - many of mine have patches that are stripped down to the core.

Yeah, we had a problem with cables too for a while. It seems to have stopped tho. I think he got scared the last time he was chewing on them - he was chewing and pulling on my phone charger cable while the phone was plugged in, and pulled it off the edge of the desk. It fell to the floor, and took him with it. He was ok, just very shaken up. He hasn't messed with it since then

oh, also the remote control! If I don't keep it out of the way, Maya would obliterate all the buttons! My phone has taken a walloping over the last few days and also the cord on my dressing gown and the corners of a book I'm reading. Thanks, Maya!

It's funny how they all seem to go for the same items. Our various remote controls all have the rubber buttons half ripped off. We supervise Bonnie quite well, but it only takes a second or two for her to land and wreak havoc.

Always turn your remotes upside down. Save the electronics... lol
