For a while now, Jade has insisted on a "kiss" -- she offers her beak and I hold out my finger and she bumps it and I make a "mwah" sound and then she does, too -- every time she sees me. Then she started reaching up, so I bend over and she pulls my hair and chuckles. For a bird who's the avian form of autistic, this is huge. Now she's clambering onto the side of her cage and hanging there, sometimes upside down, and bobbing her head madly and saying "whee hee." Clyde hangs on the side of his cage and waves his foot sometimes to order the Mom Taxi, but when I offer it to Jade, she lunges, so I'm not quite sure what she wants me to do when she does that.

I'm not quite sure what she wants me to do when she does that. She may just be telling you "Hey Mom-- here I am-- look at me!" Or she may want you to come over so she can lunge at you-- maybe that's a fun game for her to play.

She reaches out and snags my shirt if she can when I walk by. I always stop and talk to her and give her "kisses" if she wants them. Clyde does not approve and if he happens to be on my shoulder, he chomps me for it.

I reckon she just wants to play with you. And she now trusts you enough to treat you with rudeness!

Oh, she was rude from day one. LOL But no matter how difficult she is, when she whispers "kiss kiss" as I'm tucking them in at night, she turns mommy into a puddle of goo.
