It was suggested to me that since I purchased an expense 5 lbs. bag of pellets and only have the one Quaker that these pellets should be kept in the fridge? Does anyone keep their pellets in the fridge?
Also... Aaron.. I was wondering how long does the apple cider vinegar last? I have looked hard for an expiry date but cannot find any. I had a bottle in the fridge for about 3 months and got worried so I through it out and bought another one. Any idea?
Thanks

I did the same thing - got a big 5lb bag of Harrisons on sale and just have Yoshi to eat it all. I read somewhere (I actually think it was here) that it can be kept in the freezer. So I just keep enough in a bag for 1-2 weeks in the cabinet, and fill it up with frozen when it runs out.

I keep the cockatiels seed in the fridge - checked with the vet and he said it was fine. Cant see any reason why you cant keep pellets in the fridge or freezer.

I always refrigerate Harrison's. It has no preservatives. They recommend using it up in something like four to six weeks, but I never do and have never had a problem with it.

I keep my Harrison's in the fridge as well.
Julianna, apple cider vinegar can last many years. Generally expiration dates, if they are printed, say something like 3-5 years out, but it can last even longer. It's very acidic, so it has a very long shelf life. I don't even refrigerate mine.
