Each morning it's a rush to get my animals ready for a new day. Feeding and cleaning and a cuddle or two. Coco always gets my full attention by me making sure he has new toys to play with what greens he will have for the day ( as I'm typing this my 'demon' cathas decided0.................................(that she wants a cuddle or she will sit on the keyboard as you can just see) and my two chooks have just started 'shouting' that they have laid an egg. At least Coco is quiet for the moment ha ha. He has already been out with me but I'm sure he's due another one on one time with me. I take the quiet part back he's demanding attention again.....ah well at least the dogs are asleep after their breakfast and a bit of sitting in the sun and my budgies are content chattering away. Better go as the cat is swishing her tail at me and giving me the evils as I'm sitting on her chair (the computer chair) And who says 'dumb animals' , mine rule the roost and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I completely agree with you! Normy basically runs my routine now.. since he joined my family I get up 45 minutes earlier just to make sure we have enough cuddle time and loving. This morning I made him birdy pancakes for brekky while I had a boring banana smoothie... he has it all worked out!

You two are definitely more slaves than we are...Bonnie is still asleep when I get up and I have to turn on the light between 7-7:15am as it's still darkish then (we are in winter now in Australia). But when I get home it's a different story. I let her out straight away to make the most of the remaining daylight and she enjoys flying around the house and feeding her face. Then by 6:15 it's dark again and she goes to bed.

Casey is more like Bonnie, she doesn't call good morning until she hears me waking up, and since our house is very busy she knows to wait for open door time when she comes out on top. The only time she gets demanding is dinner time when she expects a plate of yummy food on top of her cage before I sit down to eat.
Currently the pups are taking more time as Gaston had dental surgery a week and a half ago and is still not wanting to eat properly. I have been cooking for him lots and Casey does benefit from that too, this morning they both had sweet potato for breakfast!

Hi Lesley.... my house is run by my Quaker Oscar. I only have the one to take care of but hollllyyyyy.... he takes up as much time from me as he can. He doesn't fly so he is quite demanding when he wants to have a ride somewhere... but like you... I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being a slave.

I always find it funny reading these posts Maya is definitely more of the laid back type. We cover her cage to make sure she gets 12 hours sleep. I tend to make her breakfast before I get her up, and she doesn't shout out until I go in to get her. Once awake though, she definitely thinks things should be run her own way! They are little energy machines. None of us would have it any different, though

We do our best to accommodate Cupcake as best we can in our day to day schedule, but of course having two full time jobs and a 10 year old daughter, we can't always make everything revolve around her. Of course, when it doesn't, she will most certainly express her disapproval. Even so, I'd classify her as fairly laid back. On most days, she's fairly willing to go with the flow. The morning routine is fairly rigid, though-- while her wake up time varies between 8 and 9:30 or so, her food is always ready before she exits her sleep room, and we always spend some quality time with her after waking up... On an ideal day she will get to take a shower with Dad in the morning and Mom at night, and be an important part of the evening goings on, like supervising our daughter's homework, and the making of dinner and such. Thank goodness she is generally so accepting of our flexible schedule... on the days that she greatly disapproves, it can be very intense and not particularly fun But, that's parrots for you She's the one with the control, really
