Glad Maya got the clean bill of health! That's always a relief. I do feel sad for little Rio. Some people really should not have parrots. Poor guy.

Thanks all Maya is her usual self. Davis was putting up his bike rack in the pet room today. We're going to hang the bike on the wall out of the way. We hung the rack up today to get her used to it and the bike (which she sees every day) will go up a little later. She was NOT happy about the commotion of putting the bike rack and, when I got home from rehearsal, was in a real huff! But after a while she got over it and came for a cuddle and we had a good training session. I really do not know how you can call a parrot 'boring', they are many things but that certainly isn't one of them! I was thinking about Rio today, though I've no idea what species he is. I just felt sad that his family could be so disinterested. He must be so lonely. Honestly, if I leave Maya alone for like a minute while I'm doing something else (like cooking) and I hear her calling for me, I get really agitated and anxious if I can't go to her. How can you live with a bird and not be really quite attuned to its needs and emotions? Just plain strange. Anyway, Maya is doing well and happy to be home

Thanks everyone! I bought Maya some more lafeber nutriberries, which I keep in the cupboard, up high so that the pets can't reach them. I just walked into the room to find the cupboard had been blocked open by the berry packet, which had fallen off the shelf. Cleo the rabbit had chewed the packet open and was happily sat on the floor, nibbling a nutriberry! Obviously I took it off her straight away. I don't think it's dangerous for her, but if she kept eating it, it would certainly make her fat! I transferred all the other berries out of the packet and into a tub. Honestly! Never a dull moment! Maya, however, is thoroughly enjoying the new El Paso flavour I introduced her to today
