Hello i have had Gypsy for about three years now he is on Zupreem pellet and Harrison high pontancy mash. The problem is his poo does not look right it is green with water. I have no idea why he has not been on seed for a long time now What could be wrong.I will take him to a vet but none is near us that deals with birds,

Greetings to you and Gypsy!
Have you ben feeding Gypsy anything with more moisture content? Like fruit or vegetables? That will have an effect on the dropping composition similar to what you describe.
While I would always recommend seeing an avian vet for issues that relate to droppings, one thing you can do that has helped us a lot is put organic, raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (about 1.5ml per dish) in Gypsy's water. It can clear up mild infections and also acts as a probiotic. It would still be good to see a vet though if possible.
Good luck, let us know how things go!

Hello to you and Gypsy, and welcome to you too. I do not wish to alarm you, but has Gypsy been tested for psittacosis? If not, I would recommend taking him to the vet asap. Psittacosis, otherwise called parrot fever or chlamydiosis, is a disease that can infect birds and humans. It may be have been present in his system for some time, and only presented itself now. The green and watery droppings that you have described are one of the key systems. It CAN be fatal, but is also very easy to fix. HOWEVER, having said that, droppings like this can also be a symptom of much milder infections. I would definitely recommend taking Gypsy to a certified avian vet. It is SO important to have a good relationship with one of these vets, who understand birds. Mine has been AMAZING, and I'm really glad I signed Maya up with him. I'm sure Gypsy will be absolutely fine, but I do think the vet is a good way to go. As Aaron said, very good luck and please let us know how he is!

Like Aaron mentioned... try the organic apple cider vinegar in the birds water. It really is good for them and the vet I saw recommended it as well. It will help clear any little problems the bird may have. I actually use it about every second day and the bird does not mind it at all. Remember ... any thing different they eat.. will change the texture and color of their poop. My Oscar was pooping a dark orange one day and I was in a panic... until I remember how many carrots he had eaten.
