Hi everyone, name is Raeza! I'm a new parrot owner. Got a 4 month old blue quaker baby just a few days ago. Such a sweetheart, tentative name is Bondi (bond-eye). Were going to the vet on monday to just have an initial check up and make sure he's a healthy little baby, and to have him sexed so long as the risks aren't too great. Hoping to have these forums be a great resource for me, I have done a lot of research before adopting the little bundle of love but I know i still have a lot to learn.

Here' a short clip from our first breakfast. BANANAS! if you turn your sound up a bit it makes the ending a little more comical.

Haha thanks. He is quite adorable, i was so close to adopting a crimson bellied conure when I met this guy. He stole my heart in minuites.
P.S. I really should stop saying he... We see the vet Monday (gonna do the test to have bondi sexed). I just have this gut feeling about him though... My baby boy haha. Hope I'm not wrong.

When I got Shah, I was told he was a female (hence his name is also Sharni). Had to change "good girl" to "good boy" once the vet advised me he was a boy. I love the video of Bondi eating the banana - very cute

Welcome to you, Raeza and Bondi. I was going to ask if you named him after Bondi Beach too (I'm an Aussie like Jan). Hope you enjoy the forum. Bondi sure is a cutie! Edit: I like the way he drops the banana at the end, when he's had enough. In our house we call that 'the foot fling'.

The foot fling seems to be something he likes to do for fun. I think he just likes to find out what things sound like when they hit the floor... He also throws wood chips at the cat as she walks by the cage. Bondi is really cheeky haha.
Today is my first full day of work since I've brought bondi home. I know the bird will be ok, i just hope there's no screaming. I do live in an apartment and though birds are allowed I know they don't take to noise complaints very well. there is one couple a floor below me that own a Rottweiler... And though our lease agreement says SMALL animals... Well let's just say that dog hears the elevator and he's barking like someone is trying to break in -.- I know our landlord doesn't really like birds, so I really guess I'm just hoping that they will realize there are lots of animals making excessive amounts of noise that ARENT supposed to be in our building and leave us alone. Haha.
If it comes down to it I would move before giving my new buddy up. Here's hoping my neighbors are chill!

Hi Raeza,
I also have a baby blue quaker, my baby Norman is around 3.5 months old. I remember the first full day of work, I felt so guilty even though I knew he would be ok haha!
I live in a town house, so I share one wall with some neighbours, I was really worried about noise complaints but, a month later, and still no complaints. I have to say Normy is pretty quiet though... he has the occasional squawk but most of the time he just makes little happy bird noises! I also live right next to a rainforest reserve so there are SO many bird noises around, I'm not sure whether anyone could differentiate between Norman and the outside birds thankfully!
This forum has helped so much so ask any questions you want!
Hope you and Bondi have a good day : )
