Wishing all the wonderful mothers out there... a happy mothers day. (It is mother's day here in Canada today).
I went out for breakfast and as I watched an older couple enter the restaurant.. I wished the woman a happy mother's day. She said thank you and the same to you my dear. I told her I wasn't a mother (unfortunately) and she replied.... we are all mothers.
As I pondered this... I realized what she was saying... and it sounded so "right on". In a way I am a mother... even if I do not have children. I have many of the traits... care giving... loving... teaching... training... cleaning... feeding... holding... hugging... and the list goes on. Now I do not mean just with my little boy Oscar ... but with all the people in my life. If you give of yourself... you are giving like a mother would.
I know that I will truly... never know... the life of a mother... but I still appreciate what the Older woman said... that was the first time anyone has ever said that to me.
Ok... I have to run... Oscar is screaming... mommmmieeeeee... mommmieeeeee. lol
