Hi My Quakers urine is clear like it should be but I have noticed when it drys it dries as a slightly yellow ring. Does anyone else have this?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a ring, but bird droppings have urates, in addition to feces and urine. The urine should be clear, and the white stuff is the urates. They really should be white. If they are yellow throughout, it could indicate a health issue. Could the yellow be coming off the paper or whatever it is he or she is pooping on?

Maya's have a slightly yellow line around the outside of them when she poops on newspaper. This is the newspaper, not the poop. Sometimes, the colour can also be altered by their diet. So, for example, when Maya eats pellets, her poops are well formed but can be green or red or yellow with clear/white streaks depending on the colour of the pellets she has eaten. Her urine is clear when she eats moist fresh vegetables such as peppers. Check what your birdie is eating and maybe try examining them on a number of surfaces. If you are worried, a call to your avian vet should provide some reassurance. Generally, if poops are green and runny, or yellow and runny on a consistent basis, and your bird is shedding weight, then that could indicate illness. I've never heard of illness being indicated by a yellow ring around dried poop. Daily or weekly weigh ins can help you to establish your bird's base weight. More than a 10% fluctuation in weight can indicate illness, particularly if the weight drops. My Maya tends to weigh in at between 88 and 93g (depending on time of day and whether or not it is pasta night!) But Quakers may weigh on average anything from between 90 - 140g, but some may weigh a little less and still be healthy. You can get a decent set of bird scales that weigh in grams from northernparrots.co.uk or amazon.com

I've seen this before... but only a very very slight yellow, and I tend to think that it's runoff from the solid part of the dropping creating a tint in what is otherwise quite clear urine. Can't hurt to check with a vet, but if it's only very slightly yellow, it's probably nothing.
