Well... Oscar is gone to the sitter once again... and boy does he know it when I am getting his things ready. After everything is packed in the vehicle, I usually get him on my finger and tuck him under my coat on my shoulder. (It is still cold outside).
Well today he did not want this at all. He ran inside his sleeping cage and tried to hide in the back. Poor little guy... I had to literally pick him up and get the tie wraps off his toes to get him out. He was holding on for sure.
Once he gets there he is fine. He talks to the other birds and loves the other quaker... cause they speak the same language. Once he had his food and water, I tucked him in his cage and asked for a kiss good bye... and I actually got one.
We are headed to the Specialists for the next 5 days... they are really far away. One is 300 miles the other 500 miles... sure am going to miss my little guy but tonight... I am enjoying the peace and quiet a little. lol

Ha, you say you are enjoying the peace and quiet. It wont last. You actually end up missing their noise. What sort of specialists?

Hi Julianna, have you thought of asking the sitters to spy on Oscar to check if he does the throat/regurgitating thing? Hope your appointments go well.

Drive safe, I think you mentioned you are coming down my way... And we've got freezing rain and snow in the forecast.... Spring seems to be on hold for a bit!

I agree with Jan. It doesn't take long to be disturbed by the silence. When Peppy was in the hospital, I was bereft. I still had my noisier bird (Allie), but really missed the contact calling. How great to have a bird sitter! I hope everyone comes back with a clean bill of health.

We are back. I did ask the sitter to watch for the throat thing and she said he did a little but not much. At home he had his bath (first thing) and is now screaming excited. And regurgitating... too much. Can't wait for next Thursday so he can see a vet. Wish he would nap lol lol.
Yes... I missed him a lot. I saw the results of the freezing rain Caseysmom.... and although it may have been terrible for those who live there... it was truly beautiful to see all of the trees sparkling like diamonds.

Welcome back. Try not to worry too much about Oscar. A few more days is not likely to make a difference, and you don't want him to see you stressing out.

Welcome back, Julianna & Oscar! Poor little fella, being without his 'beloved' for a bit...

Yes the trees were beautiful! I would have gone hiking to take pictures but it was a busy weekend. Just rain now, all the ice has melted. Hope Oscar has settled back into routine today and you guys can relax!

I wish he would settle back in. Two days now and he is so friggin hyper... he will not stop yacking... every 10 seconds or so... sqawk. He only stops if I have him on me. Geezzz. Enough already. I even tried putting him in his cage with the door closed... no luck. He managed to chew two buttons off my blouse while I was desperately trying to relax. Least he was quiet then.

Maybe Oscar and Bonnie should get together. They seem to have a LOT in common!
