This morning I was listening to talkback radio (3AW, Melbourne, Australia) and the morning radio hosts mentioned that someone had rung up singing the praises of a reading program in which kids read books to their dogs.
Well, this (inevitably) led to a bit of fun that started out with the hosts changing classic book titles to more 'dog-relevant' ones, then people started ringing up to make more suggestions that also included movies. Some of the suggestions were: Lady Chatterley's Rover, Bone with the Wind, Where Beagles Dare, Don Coyote, The Quiet American Pitbull, Shi-tZulu (starring Michael Canine), Lord of the Fleas, Fifty Shades of Greyhound and my favourite...I Can Hump Poodles.
This got me thinking about prospective book/movie titles relevant to birds. My first contribution (drum roll)?...Starling Wars! Come on, release your creative juices!

I'll have to think about book and movie titles, but I do have a song title now: the adaptation of an old song I sing to Ralph: "I Love Parrots." I love parrots in the springtime/I love parrots in the fall...

Flycatcher in the Rye A Starling is Born How Green Was My Quaker
it doesn't really fit the categories, but who can ever forget the sound of Rchard Harris warbling this line from MacArthur Park: Someone left the caique out in the rain...
