Parrots and strangers

Cupcake is definitely a bird that is extremely skeptical of all strangers. In fact, the maintenance team in our apartment complex knows us very well because we do not allow them to enter our apartment when we are not home because we do not want Cupcake to be frightened by intruders. She definitely warms up to people in time, but they have to earn her trust, and it definitely isn't a quick process. The maintenance people never spend enough time in the house, and when they are here all they do is make noise and move things around, so she'll probably never like them, despite having seen them upwards of 50+ times 

We've never tried the sitting down routine to introduce her to new people, but the next time there are individuals that I would like her to be friendly with, we'll definitely give that approach a shot.
