I have a new quaker parrot that was hand raised but has been at a petstore and was not step up trained. She has obviously bonded with me and enjoys being petted and will not bite me but she will not step up and if I push her to do it by pressing my finger into her chest she retreats and I have to earn her trust back. Have tried using her favorite treat to lure her but it hasn't worked. Any advice? I love her so much and just want to be able to take her with me everywhere. Thanks in advance.

This article from the compainion site quakerparrots.com may have some ideas for you: teaching a QP to step upI started by getting Ralph to step onto a spare wooden perch. He would do that easily when I first got him, and once he was used to doing that, it was a matter of only a few days before he'd step onto my hand.
