I tried on maybe 3 occassions to play peek a boo with Yoshi, and he always acted like he disliked it, so I stopped. This was at least a month ago. Then yesterday, out of the blue, he just starts saying "peek a boo". I've never heard him say it before until then, and he just kept saying it. So we started playing again, and now he seems to enjoy it. Such a silly little bird lol.
Bonus: He asks me if I'm a duck, then poops and proudly declares himself a good boy!

He IS a good boy! And he says it very well (I love their squeaky voices). He sounds almost the same as Bonnie as far as squeakiness goes (except that, of course, she says "good GIRL"!). Edit: I think he and Bonnie have exactly the same happy hut!

Very cute! I just played it, and while Peppy totally ignored it - too busy trying to relieve me of a flaw on my neck - Allie started laughing when Yoshi did.

Lol, Casey loves to join in laughter too. Peekaboo is Casey's favourite game. She sits on one hand while we play it, with the other I cover her head either her or I say "where's Casey". Then when I uncover she says peekaboo. She loves to perform that for company. Don't think I've ever recorded it, I could put her on the cage and try. It is surprising what they remember and come up with. Yoshi is a smart little guy!

Ok I tried this morning, had to make a new youtube account since the video wouldn't upload on photobucket and I don have access to an old defunct email to get into the old account. Its not perfect but it gives you the idea, she was turning peekaboo into springlike playtime so I cut the video shorter..... You tube was easy to upload so gradually we can try more videos

Oh my, Caseysmom, that has to be one of the cutest things I've ever seen! I've mentioned before that I have this bad habit of falling in love with other people's birds.

Priceless! I love it. Bonnie was watching, too and paid attention to it…maybe I'll have to start it with her. Caseysmum, how long did Casey take to learn saying it?

Shah and I play peekaboo - I put my hand over my face or cover it with material or put my hand in front of him and he sticks his head up and says peekaboo. Just keep playing peekaboo games with Bonnie and saying it. I cover my face and go "where's Sharni, where's Sharni" and then when he moves the cover away, I say peekaboo. The interesting thing is the way Shah says peekaboo when he is playing with me - kind of like peeka but when he thinks he is alone he says the entire word but it is very precise and clear.
