There have been others from Australia over the years but they seem to have drifted away. Angela, keep asking questions if anything is worrying you. One thing the forum members all seem to agree on is whether an animal needs to see a vet or not. I know when I first got Shah, I rushed him to the vet as I thought he had something wrong with his neck. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it - it is just that quakers necks are different to cockatiels. Felt really stupid but the vet said that it was better to ask than to leave it - just in case it was something that needed attention. So keep asking questions.

I'm from Australia too, I never post on here as I can't remember my user name. Jasper has just had a major moult and has lots of pin feathers on his head. I'm in Brisbane.

Haha very funny Biteybird! Thanks Jan I'm sure I'll have lots more questions!!! As I said I wasn't overly concerned as he was still eating and drinking and pooping like normal, lol! I've been quite sick in the past, so I have no qualms about seeing Dr's and Vets!!!! Hi Jasper's minion! Glad to see there are 4 of us lol!

I want to go to Aussie... but guess I am stuck a Canuk (canadaian) forever. When I lived in Belgium for a couple years, I briefly considered trying to pass as Canadian (Americans being so popular the world over ) but I figured I would put an "eh" in the wrong place or would slip up some other way.

Lol, just throw it at the end of a sentence, that often works! I don't think we even realize we are saying it, lol! Then you would also need to wear a toque not a hat, and learn to like poutine! I can say I've been to Australia but it was only for two days, so that probably doesn't really count. It would be a neat country to explore.

I had to look it up, but as long as the cheese and gravy were vegetarian, I could learn to love poutine! I discovered Nanaimo bars a couple years ago, and I've had the utmost respect for Canadian cuisine ever since.

How about butter tarts, they are a spicey raisin tart, that is also a yummy Canadian dessert! A fav of mine! No nuts in the ones I make though as I am allergic.

Ok Stop... you are making me hungry. lol. Yes I would love to go to Australia and yes... I am a traveller. Australia is on my list of places to go before I kick the bucket. lol. I hesitate only because it is soooooo far but I will make it there one day. (guess I should start walking now... lol)
A word of advice... always put the "eh" and the end of the sentence okay eh? I was stunned when I was in the states and people there could not get over that I wanted gravy on my fries. They use salad dressing like the Ranch stuff. I thought that was really weird but it did not taste bad.

In Belgium they invariably eat fries with mayonnaise. Never could pick up that habit.

Well Julianna, if you ever make it to Australia, I can guarantee that you wont want to leave. It is a spectacular country with very diverse environments. I feel very fortunate to live here and am often pleased that we are so far away from the rest of the world given the events in recent years. Plus we eat our fries with whatever takes our fancy be it gravy, mayonnaise, vinegar or tomato sauce
