Hi! I am new to the forum and in fact I am new to parrots. I have finches but I really wanted a bird I can interact with more. I answered an ad and am going to be picking up my female Quaker this evening. Her name is Sunny and she's approximately two and a half years old. First I will be going to the pet shop to buy some toys. She comes with a very nice cage but as far as I can see has no toys. Any advice would be very much appreciated on all topics of her breed. Nutrition and habits. Thanks so much!!

Welcome to you and Sunny! I suggest reading a good book on Quaker parrots, like Mattie Sue Athan's Guide to the Quaker Parrot or Pamela Higdon's The Quaker Parrot: A Guide to a Happy, Healthy Pet. The companion site Quakerparrots.com is full of information and good advice too-- and the posts on the old Quaker parrot forum that this one replaces are worth browsing too, and are still available for reading. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask them-- someone here is likely to have an answer or suggestions for you.
