Poor little Peppy. I hope it wasn't a seizure but it certainly sounds like one. I wonder what would be causing that to happen.

Thanks again everyone. If there is one thing I do, it is update on Peppy's status. Perhaps ad nauseam.

We had our vet visit yesterday. I left in plenty of time to make the almost four hour drive. Even being pulled over for speeding didn't make me late. (Just got a warning. It didn't seem to hurt that I had Peppy with me.) As always, Peppy was sweet as pie with everyone. When they had to repeat an X-ray, the radiology tech assured me that it was his fault, not Peppy's, as he was very sweet and cooperative. We spent quite a bit of time in the exam room, where Peppy kept up a running conversation with a bird on the other side of the wall. It turned out to be another Quaker. He may not have heard another since he was a baby. He was also chatty with the vet, for the first time. His weight is good, at 134g, and he has good muscle around the keel again. His granuloma may have shrunk a bit more, but certainly has not grown. We don't know what to make of his recent fright/seizure episode, but the vet was reluctant to take blood yet again without a second occurrence. There are so many unknowns with Peppy that at this point we are treating the patient rather than the disease, whatever that might be. Provided he continues to feel well, we'll stay the course with the meds, and return late April for a blood screen to see what is going on with his liver. He is such a little trooper. He makes it clear that he'd rather stay snuggled at my neck, but he goes to his doc and the techs without a fuss. I have no reason to expect him to be so good about it, but he is.

Four hours, that is such a long way to have to go, too bad there isn't one closer. But it sounds like peppy is doing well! What a good little guy!

Well, I'm glad Peppy is contuining to feel well and there are no new major problems to report. He's such a well behaved little guy. I'm very impressed. Hopefully there will be no second occurrence!

Like Peppy, Shah is very co-operative with the vet. It makes such a difference when they are like that. I am glad that Peppy continues to improve. Hopefully there will be no re-occurrence of the so-called seizure. Hang in there little Peppy - we are all cheering you on. A 4 hour drive - the things we do for our fur and feathered friends.

I am very happy that the visit went well. Your vet is about as far away as mine would be.... if I ever need one. I know... I should take him there just for a check up.... perhaps the next time I go there to see a doctor for myself... I will do just that.

I do have one who is a little less than an hour away, but she is not certified avian, and we exceeded her ability to diagnose Peppy. She's the one who referred me to the current group. Funny thing, I can't take my grey to this hospital. They don't do primary care and you have to be referred by another vet. So as long she doesn't have anything too mysterious, we can see the closer vet.

Glad that Peppy's vet visit went well. Hope that he won't have any more episodes like the recent one and will stay well.

We're fine, thanks. Just abnormally busy. I'm racing to help a friend edit his book. He's working with a publisher, but wants to submit a more polished manuscript. I enjoy doing it. We've also been having power outages from the storms. All day yesterday. The sun is just now breaking through, for the first time in days. Floods, floods, and more floods. I just barely made it home yesterday before the last road in the area became impassable. A little scary driving through all that water.
