Hi all, my local supermarket had run out of quinoa today when I went shopping. I normally try to put a little grain in Byron's diet as a source of fibre. I bought some Cous Cous (cos David and I eat it) and some pearl barley. Not sure about Cous Cous but pearl barley is a grain. The nutritional content looks fairly similar to quinoa, there's a little fat in it and very little sugar, but it's high in protein and fibre. You prepare it like pulses (which he also loves) by just boiling in water. D'you think this will be safe for him to eat?

Couscous is just really tiny pasta, made from wheat, it would be fine. Casey loves spaghetti night!

Hahahaha, that's so cute Byron's partial to penne pasta. I've fed him on some pearl barley cos it turns out it's already in the pulses mix that I'd been feeding him and I got that on recommendation from the vet, so i assume it's ok! But I'll mix up some couscous for him too

Barley is fine. Ralph likes barley and gets some once or twice a week (more often than that and he chooses to pretend it's not there ).
