It was brought to my attention that my 8 week old has very dark, almost black feet. Does anyone know why some are this color? I started looking on line at pictures of Quakers and saw all light colored. My little guy is healthy. I'm just curious to why some are dark. Thanks.

Interesting question that I unfortunately can't answer. QPs do typically have lighter gray feet, but I suppose there are natural variations in how dark the gray can be.

I know with cockatiels their mutation has a part to play in feet color. Pied's could have darker feet or spotty feet at least they all seemed to when I bred cockatiels, if they were just split to pied is when I would notice spotty feet. Any other mutation would have pink feet.
What color is you baby?

Hahaha I just noticed my baby does have darker feet, his are a dark grey right now. He is green split blue split pallid, I wonder if one of those splits is the reason.

All three tiels have beige feet, though Greta's are a bit lighter than the boys' feet -- she's a lutino. Both Quakers have dark to middle gray feet. My starling's feet are a dark red, Benjy the Bad Budgie has gray feet like the Quakers, and Maggie the Pigeon Queen has bright red feet. I never thought about the color of their tootsies before. LOL

As of this morning they are getting lighter. Still gray but not as dark. Oh well. He doesn't know the difference so it's all good.
