Also see if you can find him (if you haven't already) a really decent sized cage. Byron's is the biggest we could find that would fit in the space and cost £110 (I don't know what that is in US dollars) but a big cage, you can pack with toys. Byron is really good at independent play, which is really important as I teach 3 days a week. It's been a good way of helping him learn to play on his own. Also, we got him his own wireless radio to keep him company when I'm not there

I'll bet you all knew I was gonna buy him/her from all my posts hahahaha!!! I think we had a fair inkling. It would be a hard heart that could walk away from a bird so eager to adopt you.

Congratulations Angela... I think you will find that at first you worry about every little thing and then after a while you will be more comfortable and realize what is natural for the bird and what is not. Soon he will be hanging off your shoulder ... like the king of the castle... and you will become a new slave... lol... just like the rest of us.

Congratulations. Please ask as many questions as you want - we are a good forum and there is a lot of experience on here. If you ask a question, you may get a variety of answers. I have found the differing views really helpful as it has given me a few things to try with Shah when problems have arisen. And I just have to say, since Shah's health has improved, he is just the most wonderful fid. He is chatty, active, rarely bites, is very cheeky and I can hardly wait to move into my own house in July/August. He will have a play stand in every room so we can hang out together for hours and hours

How exciting! Congratulations! I had a feeling it would go this way, but hey, you never know! It is a lot of responsibility and some people once they realize that don't want to go forward with it. I have a very good feeling about the future for you and your little one. You are well prepared for what's ahead. Super cool!
And certainly, ask as many questions as you like. We're more than happy to help as much as we can. Keep us posted as things progress! We want to know all the details!

OMG you're all so amazing! Thanks so much for the welcome and the support Beccilouise he's blue! The cage I'm getting him is huge! I have a fairly big house. It costs $700 Australian dollars and he's costing me $350 to buy him. That's without food or toys yet!! hahaha Zim, no names yet!! HELP!! My husband and son want to call him Popeye, but I'm not keen on that name Yes I already feel like I'm 'one of us' in your group Easttex, yes I know.... Guess I kinda always knew I couldn't resist either, but was just a little scared hehehe. Thanks Julianna.... Looking forward to being a slave, hehehe Thanks again Jan for the Vet info. Yes I understand everyone will have differing opinions and as you said that's great! Gives us a better understanding and something else to think about if we didn't think about it ourselves in the first place! The stand in every room sounds like a great idea. I'm hoping to find a good stand locally otherwise I'll have to order on line I guess... Thanks Aaron. Yes if he's ready this weekend (was meant to be last weekend but was not quite weaned yet) I'll post some pics of him/her and also the cage so you can all see So excited! Ang + almost Blue QP as yet unnamed... Any ideas??

This probably won't mean much to you, but I am a fan of Edward C Abbott, aka Teddy Blue. He was English born, but came to the US west when young and became a cowboy. He wrote a book about his life called "We Pointed Them North" that is often quoted from in history books and programs about the west. If I had a blue Quaker, that's what I would call him or her. If nothing else, maybe that will help spark an idea for you.

I told you in one of your earlier posts that you were chosen by that Quaker, so it was inevitable that you'd be bringing him home. Congratulations on becoming a Quaker parront. Both Ralph and my old Amazon George were already named before I got them, so I was spared from having to decide on a name. You may want to wait until your new baby comes home and his personality shows itself before choosing a name. If not, I think that a name suggesting royalty is appropriate for a Quaker-- King, Duke, Baron, Regis-- something in that line.
