Looking to rehome my Blue Quaker Parrot. Her name is Sama and she is 7 years old. She was hand fed and handled from a baby. She is very tame and loves to stay out of her cage and be handled. She has a LARGE VOCABULARY and talks often. She responds to speech WITH UNDERSTANDING. She also asks for things--like her Avi cakes by saying" Avi's" and asks to have her cover put on at night by saying "night night." She also dances and loves to play Peek-a-Boo.
Sama has NEVER been abused in any way. She has never been sick. She is my bird but is now attached to my husband. I have had to spend a lot of time away traveling and she will not forgive me for leaving her. We don't get along anymore. I have tried to mend the damaged relationship, but then I have to go away again. So I have decided to rehome her. I live in Virginia between Farmville and Lynchburg. You would have to come pick her up. She doesn't really like children, but an older child who is willing to learn how to handle her would be ok.
She has a large powder coated cage with blankie cover, a travel cage with cover, lots of toys, extra perches and toy making supplies. She eats Avian Cakes and Roudybush Mini pellets moistened with hot water and left to soften while cooling. Everything that was hers is included in the adoption.
I am asking $250 for adoption fee. Please respond to this post telling me about your experience with birds and what you have to offer Sama.
(By the way I have been a member of Quaker Parrot Forum since 2007 when I got Sama, but I was unable to recover my password so had to sign up again.)
