I've noticed for the past 4-5 days, Yoshi has been shaking his head. Not the bobbing of the head like Quakers do, but shaking his head as in "no" rapidly. He seems to be doing it a good bit more today.
On top of this, he was napping earlier and was rocking back and forth (front to back). I'm not sure if he normally does this when he sleeps or not, as I cover his cage at night, and he's always awake when I take the cover off.
Are these behaviors something I should be concerned about?

One more thing to add to this, I finally caught it on camera. He's done this a handful of times tonight. He doesn't make any sound when he does it, it's got me baffled.
Sorry for all the questions, I think I'm a little bit paranoid after reading and hearing from the vet about how they hide sickness until it's too late :\.

In the video clip, it looks like your parrot is making the kind of motion that parrots make to settle their crop-- or sometimes for other reasons, as when they're molting and have irritating pin feathers on their head and neck. I'm not sure about the rocking motion you described.

I have seen Oscar do this as well. At times I thought there was something stuck in his throat and I made sure he had some bread dunked in water. He did eat it and it went down so I knew his throat was clear. I think Gary is right and they are just adjusting their crop. Pay close attention to what he eats before this starts... it might be that you need to add something to his diet? or take away something?
Oscar did this for a whole day and it did scare me... but he was fine the next day and awesome since then.

Yeah, it looks like crop adjustment... Cupcake does this whenever she eats bread-like foods, although for her it's more of a wiggle, but I'd imagine each bird does it a bit differently. At first we were pretty scared by this too, but it did not prove to be an issue. I don't know about the rocking motion that you describe though... I think I'd have to see it to say much more.

Byron does that to adjust his crop as well and then normally stuffs his face at some point afterwards. Also, Byron went through a phase of doing weird little head shakes with little quacking noises. He seems to have stopped it now, but he was eating, drinking and playing ok so I wasn't too worried. I would genuinely say though, if you're worried about it, take him to a vet. They will be much better at reassuring you and can examine the bird properly to ensure there is nothing wrong. The longer you're with your bird, the more you will get to know them and their behaviour, but good exotics vets give sound advice and, in my experience, have always said they're happy to see a bird owner to vigilant about their bird's health as they see so many appalling cases of neglect and poor health due to ignorance. He looks fine to me, but if you're still concerned, just get him a check up Good luck!

Chuckie does the crop adjustment/regurgitate motion along with a wide variety of head bobs and weaves. He does move slightly when he naps. I think it is because he has to work a bit harder to breathe than normal. Unfortunately, my Mother and his first human servant Anna smoked around him and now he has a constant nasal wheeze. Since I am a non-smoker, and very careful in the kitchen not to overheat or burn anything, he hasn't become worse since I inherited him. My vet said there is no treatment for the wheezing so long as his nares are clean and he has no drainage. I also banished all Teflon based non-stick cookware from the house- an absolute must if you have a bird according to the experts. This winter I have been giving him short "mist showers" in the flow from my ultrasonic humidifier. He seems to enjoy it and given how dry it is here I worry if I don't he might develop something like eczema. It is a lot less traumatic for both of us than a daily bath.
