Hi Sharyn, have you heard anything from Daisy's new parronts as to how she is settling in?

Hi Jan and Shah, Merry Christmas to you both and to anyone else who happens to read this. I am in touch with Daisy's new parronts, at least weekly, sometimes more. Daisy is doing fabulously. She has made friends with their bare eyed cockatoo (Asia) although I cautioned her new parronts not to let them spend too much time in physical contact as we don't want them to bond in an egglaying kinda way. They have a really nice travel cage that they have taught Daisy to go into and they take her every where they take Asia. He goes on a harness, she goes in the cage. She loves being outside and going "bye bye" and will get in her travel cage when they ask her if she wants to go bye bye. I miss Daisy terribly, and I know that I gave her a good home, but to be honest, she is definitely going to be happier with them, and the company of another 'Too. She is social and although she is not stepping up yet, she does show them that she wants to be part of their flock. So, thank you for asking, but it looks like Daisy will not be coming back to me, as they love her and she is learning to love them. I will have visitation rights eventually, as soon as they feel she is bonded enough to them that she won't be upset to see me. I can understand that. The good news is, they only live about 10 mins up the road from me, so once I get their ok, I can see Daisy whenever. I'll be getting another foster after the first of the year, but I am not sure what yet. I would really like another Goffins but it's not practical right now to get something so needy and one I can't travel with. I have a lot of stuff planned this year, some of it involves an extended stay in a condo. You really can't take a cockatoo to a condo/apt, regardless of how well behaved they are. So, I will probably foster something Mr P's size that is portable so I can take them both when I go. Hope all is well with you and Shah, Jan. I have just been so busy these days, I have rarely had time to even read these posts, I am just seeing this one now

I'm happy to read Daisy is adapting so well. When I adopted Allie, I was torn between her and a Goffin's. I'm still sorry I couldn't take both of them. It would have been way too much, but they seem like such engaging parrots.

Really happy to hear Daisy is doing so well! That's really cool that her new parronts live so close by. I can see why they want to wait for her to bond to them, but very exciting that you will eventually get to visit that little lady
