So I am sad and happy at the same time. Daisy has adopters! They have been coming to visit her for the last month to make sure it's a good fit for them and they will be taking her home with them next Wed. She is the first foster that I have had that I am REALLY attached to. These ppl already have a bare eyed and he is a wonderful bird (I did their home visit). I know that Daisy will have a great home with them, but I am so sad because I have gotten so attached to her. There are too many reasons to list as to why I can't adopt her, but the biggest one is that I will have no more room to take in fosters. So, please everyone, wish Daisy the best of luck and much happiness in her new home. She will be with me for another 5 days or so and I do have visitation rights

All the best to Daisy with her new flock. It sounds like she's going to a perfect home. As I've said before, I couldn't foster parrots, because I'd become too attached to all of them-- so I can certainly understand how you feel about having Daisy move on to her forever home.

I'm still trying to figure out why I got so attached to her and none of the others. I guess it will remain a mystery

While I am glad for Daisy, I am sad for you. We try not to get attached, but we do. I will be thinking about bird fostering when I move next year but have decided just to adopt and be done with it. Best wishes to Daisy - she sure has one very wonderful foster mom I bet Mr P will miss her as well.

Wow, that is huge news for Daisy and for you. Congratulations. I'm like Gary, I would be hopeless as a fosterer, I become instantly attached to every animal & bird I come across (even if they already have owners!). Good luck over the next week or so...

Exciting for Daisy!! But that must be hard. Like the others have said, I don't think I could handle the process of fostering, so I certainly admire that you put yourself through that for these little birds. It's a wonderful thing. You've done such a great job with that little girl.

The reason you got so attached is she's a 'too. They know just which buttons to push. They are love sponges.

I admire her as well. She has the attitude that all humans should have. According to her history, she's had a lot of things happen to her that have been traumatic but she still hops up and down when I uncover her and hops from the top of her cage to her playstand and back, squawking on the top of her impressive lungs, just because she is alive and happy. She has come a long way and will continue to discover how much fun it can be living with humans. Her adoptive family has spent the entire month, 2x a week, coming to my house and visiting with her. She was actually happy to see them today and went right over to say hi and interact. The time they have spent getting to know her so her transition to their house wouldnt be so traumatic (she's very bonded to me) makes me happy because I know these people will give her a wonderful home and life That helps, a LOT!
