She'll be okay, but is sick. She had a reaction to the vaccines and had a fever, and also was in the beginning stages of colic.
The vet was here, and treated her. She's going to be okay.

I needn't have worried, though.....he likes all of them! LOL He's never been a picky eater.

I just handfed him some organic baby food carrots, because he does not look good, and I wanted to get some vitamin A into him immediately, not play a guessing game to see if he'll eat the greens or not...

It very well could be a vitamin A deficiency. Color mutation Pacific Parrotlets can't have pellets, because they cause liver problems. So he's on a mostly seed diet, with frozen veggies and his nightly almond. I'm running out the door to buy some chard, kale and mustard greens to see which he likes best.

I'm pretty sure I just confirmed it.
He was sitting fluffed up in the corner of his cage and I opened his cage door and put my hand in. He was looking right at me, but didn't respond. I kept talking to him, and moving my hand closer. It completely startled him when I touched his head.

Good luck with him! I hope it works out so you can keep him.

So, something new presented itself last night. Zach and I think that Pico may be blind, or have a vision impairment of some sort.
Every night Chewy and Pico get an almond. Last night, Pico couldn't find his. Zach was holding it right in front of him, but he had to feel for it, and it took awhile. He knew it was there, but apparently couldn't see it.
It would explain his unsteadiness, his flying into walls, his fear of taking baths, the fact that he chirps and chatters long after he's covered for the night, and his sudden lack of interest in his toy box.
We'll ask to have his eyes checked on Tuesday.

Oh, geez....everyone is flighted, and your bird room is good sized...but one chomp is all it would take to seriously hurt or kill Benjy if he annoyed the 'too as much as he annoys Jade....I just don't know....

Ummm....okay, THAT puts it into perspective, doesn't it, easttex??? For a rescuer it's a pretty big mistake, but I hadn't thought of it that way! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your sweet words, Jan. I actually have considered a bitless bridle, but haven't gotten one yet. Ponies are SO smart! My pony, Flicka, used to open and close gates with her head, too! LOL

A fellow AH staffer said "Well, yeah, you should have had her teeth done sooner... but look at it this way, you are such a great rescuer that you managed to get her up to a 5 even with bad teeth!"
