Zach and I are guilty, too. Actually, I should probably get some blood work done on Chewy, because he gets at least one (sometimes two) whole almonds every night at bedtime. He seems healthy, but we know better than to give him so much fat.

I celebrate Christmas. I've been really sick for the last few weeks, though, so my house doesn't look like it this year! I haven't gotten any decorations up, or even out of the shed! Anyway, Happy Holidays!!!!

Hi all! To those who celebrate Hanukkah, I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner. I hope you had a wonderful week of celebration and lots of good food! For those who celebrate Christmas, my flock wishes you all a very Merry Christmas. For those who celebrate other holidays, may you be blessed this season. To everyone for whom the holiday season may be bittersweet, take care and remember that your loved ones are, and always will be, in your heart.

I just found this in the Shoutbox and feel that it's an important topic. --------------- iamderailed: Hi! My name is Joyce. My husband and I have two Quakers. We found Kerby 6 years ago on Craigslist for $50 including food and two cages. We found Lewis the first weekend in December of last year, again on Craigslist for $100 including his cage. iamderailed: Kerby loves my hubby, but she is definitely my baby. Hubby has been telling me for a few weeks now that he thinks she is going blind. I've been in total denial and have came up with every excuse you can imagine. iamderailed: Nothing at all about Kerby has changed except that she doesn't fly any more. She has always had free reign over our house (we have no kids or other pets). She's always flown to wherever she wanted to be which was usually where either hubby or I were iamderailed: Today I noticed that both of her eyes seems to have milky spots in them. I have not noticed this before, but to be honest I have been in total denial over this. She is my baby. iamderailed: So, my question is, does anybody on here have a Quaker that is or is going blind? Will she be okay if we keep her wings clipped? She has never allowed ANYTHING in her cages except for pea hanging bell, her food & water, her sleepy tube and our hands. iamderailed: She does (of course) also have perches & ladders. She just has never allowed any toys in or on her cage other than her bell. iamderailed: Again, nothing else about Kerby has changed. She still eats the same. She still squawks and talks the same. She is still just as lovable as ever. Her poops all look the same too. I am going to get her in to see the vet as soon as I can. iamderailed: Thank you everybody. I appreciate any advice. Please do not attack me about this. Kerby is my baby and I totally adore her. If I had believed there was anything wrong with her she would have been to the vet a few weeks ago. iamderailed: I even convinced myself that maybe she wasn't flying because of Lewis. Lewis absolutely will NOT fly. He is totally content in or on his cage and is just as happy as he can be. He whistles, talks , makes noises, squawks, eats like a pig. easttex: Hi iamderailed. This will be a lot easier for you to address and for others to respond to if you'll start a thread in the Diet and Health board in the main part of the forum. The shout box doesn't get as much attention. You won't be attacked.

LOL Being Bon Jovi is a great way to look at it. I'll mention it to Zach, and the next time Chewy drives him nuts with his squawking I'll tell him to start singing "Living on a Prayer" or "You Give Love a Bad Name" at the top of his lungs.
