Here is something that I posted for another member on teaching the step up command. You might find it useful. And ... by the way... welcome to the forum to you and Levi.
I have read and heard about the babies and it is good to start early with the basic command of "step up". To teach step up... gently touch the bird's thighs just below where they join the belly, maintain eye contact and say "step up" clearly and distinctly. The bird should lift a food and place it on the finger. At first it might be necessary to pry the little toes up to get that first foot on the front index finger. As you lower the back hand (the hand the bird was sitting on) the bird will complete the step up onto the front hand. Practice this a few times a day for a minute or so each time. Only stop after successful completion of the command.

Another update for all of you that have helped Levi and I. A little more progress with him getting used to my finger. He will allow me to scratch his neck and head while he's still in the cage and now yesterday he let me do that while he was outside the cage. I offered him my finger to step up by placing it against his chest and he put one foot only on it. Did that twice so I know I'm making progress. I'm letting him dictate how fast he wants this to happen and we both have less stress. Oh and he's started saying peek a boo and repeating the kissing sounds. Even got him bobbing his head to Zydeco music. Seems to like the accordion. Thank you all again.

It is so worthwhile building a good relationship with a parrot. I'm glad to read things are going so well for you and Levi!

Well done to you and Levi! It sounds like he's a music appreciator. You could try playing lots of different styles and instruments to him and see which he likes best.
