We got back home on Friday night, then spent Saturday shivering through rain and hail. It rained again today (Sunday), the most rain Melbourne has had in 25 years - half the monthly average rainfall just today. What a let-down from the weather up north!
Here are some photos from Kings Canyon. We did a 6km walk, which took over 3 hours, but we loved it! Again, I must apologise for the size of the photos. I STILL can't seem to make them smaller...
1. The first bit is the steepest - that's me climbing (the last person .
2. Some interesting rock formations have resulted from erosion.
3. "A dead sea's ripples" - evidence of once shallow lakes in Watarrka, millions of years ago.
4. The Canyon wall, also close-ups.
5. I love the colours.
6. Bonnie looking at one edge of the Canyon, from the car park (I perched her cage on a fence post )!
OK - Sorry if there are too many photos...I got a bit enthusiastic.

Enjoyed the photos - thanks for posting. Weather has been good in Sydney - sunny days but very cold. Had a massive thunderstorm last night. Central Australia is a great place to go in Winter

This area reminds me (from the pics) a lot of Sedona, Arizona and the Red Rock formations

It does look beautiful there! Kind of a cross of Sedona and Monument Valley in some photos. I don't know why you're apologizing for the photo size. They are perfectly sized on my iPad. Do they display differently on other machines?

Sedona, Monument Valley, and Bryce (the rounded formations remind me of Bryce) and Zion Canyons. Yes, indeed!

Thanks guys - I didn't know these photos look like places in the U.S. I have so many photos it was hard to choose which ones to post! Easttex, every photo I put on is always really big & I can't seem to control the size. But I'm glad they're suitable for iPad at least.
