Hi all, We are in Melbourne, Australia and have a blue quaker we bought hand-reared in January. The DNA certificate showed her as a female, so I looked up some baby names and chose 'Bonnie'. She's now about 7-8 months old and can say a few squeaky-sounding things (e.g., hello, good girl, step up, whatcha doing). Most of the time she is all cute, fluffed up and on her best behaviour, but sometimes she can be feisty (nipping too hard & pecking at fingers). Also, she screeches every 2 seconds when she knows we are home and she wants to come out of her cage (we make her wait until she's quiet). On a few occasions she has nearly destroyed my eardrum when she sits on my shoulder and lets out a squawk right at that horrible pitch. When she is really noisy we call her Bon Jovi instead of Bonnie. At first I called her Bobblehead but didn't want her to learn that as her first word . Nice to be here. L

Welcome to you and Bonnie! Hope the noise issue settles down for you. It sounds like you are handling it well (by not reacting).
