She'll be okay, but is sick. She had a reaction to the vaccines and had a fever, and also was in the beginning stages of colic.
The vet was here, and treated her. She's going to be okay.

Gees Dani, watch out for colic. A friend of mine recently had his horse put down because of colic. He is absolutely devastated as Cardhu was only 7 years old. You really are in the wars. Sending healing thoughts to you and your animals.

Sometimes life just throws these things at us. You have to try and be strong and just do what has to be done. Don't think about it - just do what you need to do. I know it is hard but you really don't have a choice. You need to help Cami as she cant help herself. And if Pico really is blind or has very little eyesight, you will set up the cage to accommodate his needs. You will become his eyes when he is out of the cage. The one good thing that will happen out of all this is that the bond you share with these animals will become stronger. We are all here to help and support you Dani - I know you feel like giving up but we are all right behind you - shoving your butt forward

Of course you don't deserve it, Dani. As they say, bad things happen to good people. Your animals are very lucky that that they are with someone who closely watches them and does whatever it takes to care for them.

She's had three good piles of poop this morning!!! I think we're in the clear!!! I'm at home now...going to charge my phone (it died last night), sleep for a little bit and then head back to the barn. What a night!

That's good to hear. And you did an amazing job looking after her that night because your work with her was pivotal in her overcoming the colic. My friend recently lost his horse to colic so it is a truly dreadful thing for them to get.

Yes, it most definitely is! I'm really thankful for my friend whose house Cami is boarded at, and her boyfriend. They caught it fast. I'm also pretty proud of myself, for keeping going that night, even though I was tired and freezing cold. I had never been in a situation like that, and I felt really helpless at the time but she pulled through.
