Not much change from yesterday. He slept a little less this afternoon. Of course he had to invade the cracker container and pick something off the saucer. I deliberately left a few things there that I thought he might like and he chose a quarter of an almond this afternoon and a small piece of walnut tonight. Back in the kitchen, I closed the top of my coffee maker so I could move the cupboard door back and forth so Ralph could hear the creak he likes to imitate. But he was more interested in the top of the coffee maker and we spent a few minutes with me lifting the top and setting it down, while Ralph nodded in approval. Today we used the butter knife to play tapping games-- he tapped with his beak, and I had to tap on the drawer with the knife. He may not be feeling well, but his personality still shines through.
Ralph isn't fond of fruit, except occasionally a little peach or rarely, banana. Blueberries are evil and get a Quaker alarm call. Strawberries and raspberries only deserve to be thrown on the floor. He likes the strawberry jam, as long as it doesn't have medicine mixed in. Today he drank some of the medicated water and ate some softened pellets that had the antibiotic added to them, but I still doubt that he's getting enough. I'm running out of ideas. Ralph is like George was, and once he detects the presence of the medicine he's through eating whatever I put it in.
