Does anyone know if you can give your bird sweet gum pods for seeds and I think it would make a great foraging toy, I cant find any for for parrots.

The only information I could find is that the wood of the sweetgum tree is bird safe, and certain wild birds will eat sweetgum seeds. I couldn't find any definite information on the pods. I would go with caution unless I found something more specific about the pods and wouldn't use them.

I am finding that they may be edible or chewable but the resin is certainly chemically active and the seed balls are annoying to step on.
Small birds apparently like to tweezer out the hidden seeds.
“The most hated tree in America?” Seems a bit much. I thought female ginkgo nuts were hated because they smell like dog poo.
