Today (October 1) is Ralph's hatchday. He is now 13 years old. There hasn't been a teenager in my house since I was one, and that was a long time ago. 
Somehow I don't expect Ralph to be any different as a teenage parrot.
Ralph doesn't have much interest in parrot toys so I didn't get him any for his hatchday. He did get his traditional gifts, some new wooden dowels for his construction projects and some popsicle sticks to chew up. As usual, he got some special treats for his hatchday, like a small piece of cinnamon toast and a morsel of extra-sharp Canadian cheddar cheese, two special favorites that he doesn't get often. It wasn't an exciting or busy day, but I think Ralph had a good hatchday.
