Do you have an old picture of him?

Not a great one outside of his cage. I have the avatar shot. I suppose I could use that one and then get another shot eventually for the avatar. It just doesn't seem right to use one picture over and over, when they are so photogenic. Bad parronting, or something.

Wow. Looks like I got back to the board from my work travels just in time. This is my favorite recent pic of Mr P

My hubby just said that Mr P looks fat (sorry)...
Edit: Though I agree with Jan that he does, indeed, look gorgeous!

If you end up having to use the avatar shot, I actually think it would work out nicely... It seems like his pose would work really well on the banner next to the other birds. So no pressure to take a photo if Peppy isn't up to it...

lol, Mr P may very well be fat, but in that pic, he was just fluffy and relaxed Matter of fact, we go to the vet in the next few weeks (gotta make the appt)and we'll see how much he weighs. He was only 102 grams last year, early January, last year when I first got him. My scale has him fluctuating between 105 and 108 grams. Will see what the vet says

Mr P's weight sounds pretty right to me. Shah usually sits at around 100-103 grams and the vet says that is completely normal. He was up to 120 grams at one stage

Mr P eats a lot better than he used to but he also gets way more exercise. I'm pretty sure they go not as much by weight, but whether they can feel their breastbone. Since Mr P would take chunks out of my hand if I pressed on his keel (I think that's the name of it), I will let the vet decide Mr P also has a huge cage with his favorite toys on the lower perches and his food on the upper perches, forcing him to climb up and down the side of his cage to eat and play.

You wanna see a hefty Quaker, look at Peppy. I was wrong about him weighing 130 at the vet's. She mentioned that he was exactly the same at the second visit - 134. She said he's a good weight, so I guess he's just a bigger fellow. My father, who was actually quite thin, used to say "well I'm fat, but I'm tall, so I carry it well."

I think my husband was brainwashed into thinking Mr P is fat - because we know what 'Mr P' stands for. He does look exceptionally attractive (for a quaker) and 105grams is the same weight as Bonnie, so no probs there. As for Peppy, whoa! Hope he's doing better, by the way, Easttex.
