Sorry for you loss, Michelle. Chuco had a long and happy life with you, and I'm sure you have many good memories of her to treasure forever.

Oh, I am sorry to hear of this. It is so hard when this happens. I dread losing our Bonnie and she is only 3 years old. We are thinking of you.

I am very sorry, Michelle. They're such good companions that their loss leaves a hole in your heart. Such tiny things that somehow manage to fill your whole house.

So sorry for your loss, Michelle. They have an amazing capacity for companionship... I can only imagine how hard it is-- It's wonderful that you got so many happy years together, though... It sounds like you gave her a wonderful life.

I was wondering how long they live. My quaker is 19 yrs old screech is very vocal . He eats a variety of seeds and fresh fruit/veg. Daily I have notice this past year he sleeps in the bottom of his cage at night instead of on his perches other than that he doing very well. I have known a few people purchasing a quaker that both passed by 2 yrs of age . They think it's cool how he talks but don't realize the time and care they need they are very social . I play with him and handle him daily. Hope I have many more years with him.

Hi Tina.... quakers can live as long as 35 from what I have read. It is important for them to have a good diet especially adding pellets. Pellets are very healthy food for them... and like us... they don't always want healthy food. Small treats here and there are allowed.
I hope you have many more good years with him as well.
