Awwww, that was sad...the Colts are my "other" team. My in-laws are in Indiana.

I'm assuming you are one of those 'sports-mad' people - the Seahawks are.... (Sorry, some of us Aussies are clueless when it comes to U.S. sport).

LOL The Seattle Seahawks are a football team, and we're going to the Super Bowl for the third time ever, and the second year in a row! I'm not that into sports, but this is really exciting!
The fans of the Seahawks, and several other teams, are called "The 12th Man" because of our team spirit. "The 12th Man" was made an official team member of the Seahawks, I believe, in 1987.
My hometown is about 90 miles north of Seattle.
Actually, I was wrong...the Seahawks retired the #12 jersey in 1984, in honor of the fans.

There are two divisions in the NFL (National Football League), the AFC (American Football Conference) and the NFC (National Football Conference). To explain the conferences would involve a lot of history, so I'll just say that there used to be two separate leagues, and they merged to form the current NFL, and the two divisions.
The Seahawks are part of the NFC, and the Colts are part of the AFC.
To win the NFC Championship, and their spot in the Super Bowl, the Seahawks beat the Green Bay Packers.
Since my in-laws are from Indiana, I wanted the Colts to beat the New England Patriots, to win the AFC Championship...but they got massacred with a final score of 45-7, Patriots.

That's interesting, thanks Dani! Here we also have 'The 12th man' - but it's in relation to Cricket! In fact, there have been several 'spoof' CDs released, making fun of the cricket commentary team (Richie Benaud, Bill Lawry, etc.) since the 1990s. :oThey are quite hysterical if you want a really good laugh!

Big day for sports in Australia, too, if you're a tennis fan. Men's final Australian Open.

Oh, I take it that things ended badly for the Seahawks...? I actually fell asleep during the tennis here in Oz, but I'm glad Djokovich won over Andy Murray.

The Seahawks almost had the game won in the last 20 seconds then made a HUGE mistake, allowing the other team to win. This was a mistake that never should've happened because what they were doing was just so totally stupid! They called a play to throw the ball and the other team caught it instead. But, whoever decided they should throw the ball instead of run it should be out looking for a new job today. That play lost them the game. Seattle has a GREAT runner, they should've given the ball to him. I am still sitting here, scratching my head wondering WHY WHY WHY. And I'm not really a Seahawks fan, I just didnt want the other team to win. I bet Dani had nitemares over this last night and lost sleep.

Biteybird, I cant believe you would stay awake in the tennis. Everyone in Sydney seems to be watching MKR - how boring. Doesnt anyone watch Celebrity Apprentice anymore - am I the only one?
