Recently we got Foxtel (just trying it out, really, maybe don't need it ). Yesterday and today there was this movie showing called "Sharknado" on Syfy channel. Well, I thought it was hysterically funny and so did Bonnie. She sat up on her wall shelf and cackled away, particularly when women got their limbs bitten off and screamed. Just thought I'd share...

For Bonnie's viewing pleasure, there is a sharknado 2 already out on Sy Fy (netflix too I think) and sharknado 3 is in the works. Mr P laughs this cackling, evil laugh when he hears women on TV screaming

Ah yes, Sharyn, it must have been you on that other thread & post who mentioned the old vampire TV series with the screaming women? (I couldn't remember who'd mentioned this, or find the thread/post later on). Thanks, Bonnie & I will search for Sharknado 2 and keep an eye out for the 3rd instalment! (rofl)Maybe Mr P would like it too.

Lol, yep, that was me, Dark Shadows was the old vampire TV series. I watch it at night, after Mr P is supposed to be sleeping but he will normally laugh/cackle at least once from under the cage cover when I turn the show on.

Shah doesn't really watch TV but when I got him up the other night, I put the 2nd Hobbit movie on the bedside DVD player. He was intrigued. I did buy Rio for him but haven't played it yet. Have you seen Ghost Shark - even worse than Sharknado but still there is something about these movies that they are so bad, you just have to watch them.

I have not seen Ghost Shark yet but yeah, these movies are classic, classically BAD, and a must watch. We actually did the Sharknado movies with friends of ours who also like really bad sci fi movies, it's always a hoot!

Hey Sharyn, Bonnie and I watched Sharknado 2 (my hubby found it and, amazingly, lasted through nearly an hour of it)! It didn't disappoint, particularly the bit at the end where the husband kills this shark then finds his wife's hand inside it, retrieves the wedding ring from the finger, then reproposes to her...just priceless (sorry if I've ruined the ending for anyone) ! Actually, this movie had a couple of Hollywood 'A-listers' in short roles (they all got killed off). If I were an actor, I have to admit I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to be in such a ridiculous movie, as it would be such FUN! Jan, I will have to look up Ghost Shark, too!

They do like their drama, don't they? Makes you understand a little better that screaming at them to stop doing something doesn't work in the long run.

The first Sharknado movie got such a huge viewing from Sci Fi B movie fans that a lot of well known actors wanted in on the 2nd one. I am sure the 3rd one is going to have even more big names in it, just because it is SO ridiculous, the actors enjoy doing it, I'm sure
Great point, Easttex, about screaming at your quaker. They love it! It acts as an accidental positive reinforcement!

Update...today Bonnie and I watched 'Age of Dinosaurs' on Syfy and she loved it! Again, it was the screaming women that got her cackling away in her cage. And we saw an ad for 'RoboCroc', about a crocodile that turns into a robot - anyone seen this? I think it's on this weekend sometime. Bugger, we'll be camping so will miss it, but hopefully can record it for later!

Me too, Sharyn! There is something about disaster movies that the warped side of my personality really likes. I remember when I was growing up there was a movie about killer bees called 'The Swarm' (I think), which I liked. I also liked 'The Birds' and 'On the Beach' and 'The Poseidon Adventure'. But when I went on the Spirit of Tasmania overnight once, it was so rough all I could think about (between bouts of seasickness) was the ship flipping upside down and sinking, thanks to that Poseidon movie.

I remember all those movies except On the Beach. Add the Towering Inferno to that and Willlard (about rats of all things)and a few movies about earthquakes and floods, and you basically have my list of movies I watched while growing up. I do not watch movies like The Notebook, which I am proud to say I have never seen. When traveling home from San Jose on a plane for one of my business trips, I was forced to watch Silver Linings Playbook with the chick from Hunger games in it. I still don't think I have recovered from that movie, I call those "barf me" movies. Give me a good disaster or horror flick ANYDAY

Anything noisy on TV sets the birds off. I like Starsky and Hutch and I was watching my DVDs recently and they did a lot of commentary during the car chases and shootouts. I don't know if they were encouraging Starsky and Hutch or the bad guys, but they really liked those bits. Maggie even went and sat directly in front of the screen and pecked it. They also like concert videos and The Partridge Family, but they only like the Partridge Family during the songs. Their TV viewing is limited to what Mom has on video because the TV in their room is only hooked up to a VCR and DVD player and not to cable. They were not impressed with any of my Christmas videos at all, nor do they like another of my obsessions, which is Beauty and the Beast. It's usually very quiet which makes them feel they should add some noise to the soundtrack, which makes it difficult for me to hear what Vincent and Catherine are saying.

Oh no, RoboCroc is on tonight. Thank goodness Shah has gone to bed so I don't have to watch this rubbish
