Oh, poor Ralph...confined to an apartment with a human slave catering to his every whim and no second dishwasher! ) I used to think that Bonnie's little wail when I left for work in the morning was because I was leaving - then I realised that the back door made a squeak as I was closing it. I guess I live in hope.

When I tell Ralph I'm going out, he usually bites me (not hard), apparently thinking that a parrot bite will prevent me from leaving. I'd rather he imitated the door squeaking like Bonnie does. Whenever Ralph shows an interest in a particular sound, I ask him "Can you make that sound?" One night, he responded by doing a fair impression of the squeaky oven door. I'm thinking of having him apply for a job in the appliance department at Home Depot, since he's so fascinated by the kitchen appliances.

Bonnie's not as advanced as Ralph; she only nips when she wants to play, although her nipping is getting more persistent. She only says "Ow" to ME after nipping my ear, but not to my husband (probably because he's never said it, although he's said a few other choice words ) and she made his ear bleed the other day.
Ralph would boost appliance sales to an all-time high, wouldn't he? Just imagine, he could swing a silver spoon in front of the customers' faces and say repetitively "you want this". You could have him in the dishwasher section, demonstrating, with his two plastic dishes.
Does Ralph still like the donut holes, or has he 'moved on'?

We did have to shake the stale donut holes around for a while tonight. Ralph also discovered that the plastic container they came in makes a nice sound when tapped on with his beak. Ralph also decided that refrigerators are interesting too. I had to open the refrigerator door a few times tonight, and tell him what was in there ("That's sauerkraut. You wouldn't like that..." ).

My brother came over for his birthday tonight and I introduced him to his new niece, Trixie, whom he hadn't yet met, and Ringo decided we weren't paying enough attention to her, so she showed off a couple of her more mysterious impressions, and my brother said, "That sounds just like a bell!" to one of them. OH! That's what she's doing! I hadn't managed to identify that sound. She's copying the bells she hears Jade banging on through the wall all the time!
Clyde can say "ow," too. He can also say "quit!" which is what I say when he chomps me. He'll chomp me and say "quit!" now before I have a chance to, which makes me laugh, which makes him think chomping is funny. Sigh. And I was holding him on one hand and Benjy on the other today and Benjy, who can talk though you usually have to pick out the words from his constant stream of budgie sounds, sat up very straight on my hand, looked me right in the eye and said, as clear as a bell, "Dammit!" I said to Clyde, "Are you teaching your little brother to cuss?" And, I swear, he said "Yeah!" If only he would be content with flatware and appliances, Gary!

My Romeo will bite and say either "don't be rude" or "be a nice bird" ROFL . When I sing he will charge at me growling and butts his beak aganist my chin, and I'll tell him "don't be rude", so i'm not quite sure why he says it when he bites

That's sauerkraut. You wouldn't like that... Hmm...in our case it would be "Bonnie, that's beer/wine/stout/champagne/chocolate. You wouldn't like that." She has dipped her beak in my glass several times, then shakes little droplets everywhere. So far I'd say she likes Riesling the best, LOL.

No not at all! I wouldn't be able to sing in tune to save my life

I just love reading all of the toys and things we do with our fids. It brings me to think of all the things Oscar loves and boy there are quite a few. I think I will start a new post. Enjoy and good to hear you are better Ralph. I know back pain for sure.....three surgeries here. Take care.
